Mrs. Tammy Gough
Primary Teacher
This year is Tammy Gough’s 6th year working as a teacher at Issachar Christian Academy. She
has been blessed to see the growth and changes that God has orchestrated in this school
which He is clearly using for His own purposes and glory.
Tammy has been privileged to be raised in a home where God was honoured and revered and
chose to follow Him at ten years old. Since then, her journey has included: starting and
leading her high school Christian Fellowship, Leading the Nipissing/Canadore Intervarsity
Christian Fellowship and adventuring off to Florida to work at House of Hope (a home for
troubled teens). Amazingly, she met her husband Stan there and he was also from North Bay.
Together they are now raising two beautiful daughters.
Tammy loves reading, writing, hiking, running, gardening and other outdoor activities. She has
a huge list of interests she is hoping to pursue one day, but for now she enjoys sharing time
with her daughters and supporting them as they grow into young women.
Tammy has taught in various capacities for approximately 16 years in grades JK-8 and has
qualifications in Special Education.
Tammy says she loves the positive environment at Issachar and the emphasis on prayer and
building each other up. “Everyone is valuable and there is a strong sense that as teachers we
are participating in laying foundations for future leaders in the Church. We seek to be role
models of the unity, love and servanthood that belongs to the body of Christ. My personal
goal for my each of my students is for them to form a meaningful relationship with Christ that
is reflected by their lives including the pursuit of excellence in all they do as a form of
worship. Colossians 3:12-17 sums it up nicely: Colossians 3:12-17
12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness,
humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if
anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must
do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the
peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be
thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and
admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your
hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
